Class Blog

Welcome to Ash class!

This half term we are completing learning around the topic ‘Memory Box.’ Please see the topic overview below for more information on what we will be covering.

Forest School

We have been going to the woods for our Forest School sessions and have loved the chance to develop our problem solving and motor skills. We have developed our knowledge of the plants and creatures we can find in our local area and thought about why it’s important to look after them and treat them with respect.

 Tying knots.

What can we see? Birds? Squirrels? Insects?

    Whittling sticks.

 We found a lady bird!

 Balancing on the wobbly bridge.

Dinosaur Planet

We loved our ‘Dinosaur Planet’ topic and completed lots of amazing learning around the dinosaur egg which hatched in our classroom, important historical figures and how fossils are formed.

We couldn’t believe it when we arrived at school to find a dinosaur egg! We thought about what might be inside and how to look after it.

We worked as a team to build a dinosaur zoo. We thought about what it would need to keep the dinosaurs safe and to make sure they didn’t escape!

We have enjoyed working in the small world area to create our own dinosaur stories and have even started using the ipads to make dinosaur movies.
